Style with meaning
The Shella Monova brand tells a story that goes through the centuries and originates from the Great Silk Road. Robes made of completely natural handmade fabrics are homage to classic chapans: this is what traditional caftans with recognizable patterns are called in Uzbekistan.
Shella Monova presents a modern look at this iconic wardrobe item: a relaxed silhouette and a variety of colors — from laconic base to rich, eye-catching shades — will perfectly fit into a casual wardrobe or become a bright accent in an image for a special occasion.

And bohemian lightness will add a special character and charm to any image. So the brand will unite Europe and Asia, history and modernity, creating timeless clothes.

Handmade fabrics

The robes and kimonos by Shella Monova are completely handmade: from dyeing the threads to sewing the product. For its creation, ikat is used — a traditional fabric dyed with the help of a special technique: the pattern on it is not a print, but manually pre-dyed threads interwoven on a loom. Uzbek ikat has become a symbol of the region and a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage.

The interweaving of lines and colors in the pattern each time creates a new intricate geometry, images and shapes that are not repeated and are known only to the craftsman. At the same time, the fabric is almost the same on the front and the back side. Since its inception, ikat had a special ritual value, which is symbolic, because the history of ikat begins with the Great Silk Road, thanks to which not only the trade in fabrics, but also cultural and spiritual exchange between people took place for many centuries.
